Thailand has had Thai as a native language for a long time. Thai language is very unique and different from other languages. All people in Thailand use this language even though it is slightly different depending on each part of the country. However, the world keeps changing more and more. Therefore, Thailand should also make a change to be able to catch up with other civilized countries. The key to lead Thailand reach that point is to develop our country to be international. How? Of course, the first thing we should do is to make all Thais be able to speak English. Let’s see how English is important for our country.
Firstly, it will be useful for communication. If we all could speak English, we could contact with the foreigners in many parts of the world. For instance, we can make friends with them whenever they come to our country, or when we go abroad. Also, as a technology changes quickly, we can talk via the internet using e-mails, instant messenger programs along with voice and camera. This is one way to make us to have more friends. Yet, it is a chance to present and spread Thai customs and cultures to everybody all around the world.
Secondly, Englsih can help in education. If all Thais are possible to understand English fluently, it will be good for their chances to open a vision and learn new things, which are different from usual things we have learned for a long time. Since there are plenty of information and knowledge in books, internet, television, etc., we could learn anything we find it is useful every time and everywhere in English apart from learning all things in Thai, which is similar to wall ourselves from this big world.
Finally, it will definitely help us in economy of the country. First of all, if all Thais are able to speak English, this will attract more foreign tourists to come travelling in our country. Also, if we could make Thailand to be an international country in the eyes of the other powerful countries in the world, this will also attract them to invest a large amount of money in our country. Moreover, this will be important for the international trade which could push our country forward to the world market. All of these things will be able make Thailand to gain more income to the country and develop us to be one of the best countries in the future.
From all the reasons above, it is obvious that we should make all people in Thailand speak English. Not only for those main results which I mentioned, but also in order to make Thailand to be a country that every countries accept with open arms as one of the best international country in the world.
